Okay, okay, let me set the record straight: I did NOT move to Utah! The day after Christmas Brett, Hazel, my mom and I packed up the car and drove to the Tiny Mountain Home, and we’ve been here...
Behind the Scenes with Locale Magazine
Hey guys! I got to meet with Locale Magazine a few weeks back for a photo shoot and to share with them some of my favorite local spots; the kinds of places that make Huntington Beach such a great place to live and work. The kinds of places that put the hashtag in #lovewhereyoulive. I thought I’d share them with you here on the blog, too, since I can’t say enough great things about this awesome place I get to call home!
Fish fresh off the boat, sunset views, and outdoor firepits equal So Cal living at its best.
My sister-in-law, Heather, is a local artist, and I love stopping by her studio to see her latest work and to put my favorite pieces on hold before somebody else can!
Shopping at Crystal Court
Not only do I love their clothes and furnishings, but I’m always in awe of their crazy creative display installations, as well.
People who know me know I was an #athleisure wear junkie long before it was even a thing. I mean, you just never know when you’re going to need to strike a yoga pose.
I have an english bulldog, which means weekly dog washing is a must! Nala (and my chihuahua, Tiger, too) love getting pampered by Nick and his crew at DDW. Nala always looks so proud when she comes out shiny and clean with a fresh bow on her collar.
We know we’ll always run into friends and family whenever we stop by the wine bar. It basically feels like an extension of our own living room. But with better wine! Local Tip: If you bring a Wine Co. bottle to Cucina Alessa, they waive the corkage fee!
We’ve been regulars here since they opened 11 years ago. We know we’ll have a great date and delicious dinner whenever we show up.
You’ll find my husband, Brett, and I scouting for yet more vintage in our lives at the Cars and Coffee vintage and antique car meetup with a fresh cup of coffee from Donut Derelicts in hand.
Who doesn’t love a really great hot yoga class? (I know, I know, but I can be a glutton for punishment.) Besides, it helps me stay strong and centered so I can handle whatever the next reno throws my way!
Cocktails on the beach. Legally. Plus, giant daybeds, s’mores, and live music. The perfect way to wrap up another great week in HB!
And last but not least, an extra special shout out to Junk Style Design, where the photos for this article were taken. Junk Style has been featured on my show, Hidden Potential, and they are always the first people I call when I need that perfectly perfect vintage piece that I know I won’t be able to find anywhere else.
