Everything You Need for the Ultimate Quarantine Baking Session
Since everyone is stuck inside lately it makes sense that quarantine baking has become all the rage! I know I mentioned earlier that I’ve been spending a lot of time in the kitchen lately, since holing up at home means more meals are cooked here than ever before. And that absolutely means baking, too. I’m definitely more of the baker in the family than Brett, but he’ll step in and help when I need him… especially when I was super preggo like the picture above!
So we’ve been baking up a storm in quarantine, and we ended up needing to add to our collection of baking essentials. Fun fact: I’m not really much of a sweets person when it comes to baked goods! I tend to go for more savory dishes, and even try to work veggies into my baking whenever possible. Am I alone in this?! One of my favorite things to make is this recipe for Carrot Cake Bars by Cara Clark. She and my fellow HGTV buddy Christina Anstead have this cool thing called the Wellness Remodel where you can do challenges to inspire healthier eating! I’m pretty obsessed (not an ad, just a fan!). Okay, okay, let me show you all this cute baking stuff I found! (Note: Don’t worry, I wrote this well before my surgery – I’m definitely resting and recovering today!)
My Favorite Quarantine Baking Essentials
These are great for measuring something small out and setting it aside so it’s ready when you need it. Think spices, oils, chopped nuts, etc. Then when it’s time to add it in your baking process, you just grab it and dump it in.
I can never have enough ceramic baking dishes! Baked french toast would be amazing in these, or an egg casserole type thing, and so on! This is also a great deal for three of them.
Environmentally friendly because they’re reusable! And… a lot of people would argue that the end result is better. Plus: they’re just CUTE. Pro tips: if you have little ones, they’ll LOVE being served snacks out of these.
I need at least five of these. Stirring or scraping batter just isn’t the same without one!
These measuring cups kinda make me feel like I have my own cooking show on TV because they’re just so darn pretty.
The workhorse of all kitchen workhorses! This is an investment, but these last FOREVER (no really, this mixer might last your lifetime if you take good care of it). There are so many things this mixer can do, I love mine.
What have you guys been baking?! Do you have any recipes you can share with me?
