Spring has sprung—and does anything make you happier? I can’t think of anything better than getting out our cute clothes (I mean, have you seen Hazel in a sunhat?), dusting off our patio furniture,...
Sneak Peek: My House in HGTV Magazine!
I’ve been on the road touring with my new book, House Story, and I’ve been missing my home a lot. But the one thing that’s been so comforting – and surreal – to me over the past few weeks is seeing my own house staring back at me from airport newsstands. Months ago HGTV Magazine came to my house in Huntington Beach, CA, we had a super fun photo shoot, and then we all moved on with life. Since I’ve been so caught up in book stuff and traveling, it was the most wonderful surprise to see that the issue with my house in it was out on stands, AND my dining room made the cover. I mean, how cool is that?! It’s been so awesome to see my house in HGTV Magazine.
As many of you know, my house really kind of makes its debut in my book, but HGTV Magazine was also one of the first places that showed my house.
And it was amazing to have Hazel at this shoot! I may be biased, but I think she’s the cutest of all time.
It was so fun to show off my main bathroom in the magazine spread. That cool artwork with a quote on the wallpapered bathroom wall is by my friend Leanne Ford!
This is our main bedroom. I love the quilt HGTV Magazine threw on the bed for this shot! Such a good idea.
Always a crowd favorite, and possibly one of my favorite rooms in the house: Hazel’s room. I did a whole blog post about her room if you want to read more about it.
I love how HGTV Magazine captured our game room! It looks ready for some fun. The artwork is covering up a TV. Oh, and see that bookcase next to the bar? It’s not what it seems…
Our family room is open to the kitchen and Hazel’s play area, so it’s easy for us all to be together comfortably. The crossword puzzle wall is the biggest conversation starter in this whole house.
The Roth Homestead, as we like to call it!
I’m still pinching myself that this photo made the cover of the magazine. Please, if you’re able to, go grab a copy while this issue is still on stands! There are lots of helpful and fun tips inside. And a big thank you to the very talented David Tsay for the beautiful photos and Liz Strong for the excellent styling 🙂
