The Perfect Home Coffee Bar From Episode 1 of My Show

If you watched Season 2 Episode 1 of my HGTV show HELP! I Wrecked My House, you know the kitchen we did in this house project was California Casual in design.  The kitchen had white shaker cabinets, matte black light fixtures, and a huge kitchen island fronted with tile and a brass toe kick.  The kitchen also had a custom coffee bar station, but you wouldn’t have known that by watching the episode.  You see, the homeowners Matt and Sarah are big coffee lovers, and they wanted the perfect home coffee bar in their new kitchen.  But it just didn’t make it into the episode.  Sometimes that happens!  There was a lot to show in this house, so I get it.  But this coffee bar is something I think a lot of you at home could benefit from seeing to plan your own at-home coffee bars, so I wanted to break it down in slow motion for you.

We installed a built-in coffee system for this family, along with drawers for storage and some shelves up top for even more storage.  All of it is concealed by cabinet doors when not in use.

The first drawer is the ideal place to store clean coffee mugs, tools like stirrers, and add-ins like brown sugar.

Storing coffee beans in canisters like these and these makes it that much easier to get a fresh batch going (is that what coffee drinkers say?  I don’t drink coffee!).

Keeping all coffee related items corralled in one place makes mornings easier because everything has a home.  And since Matt owns a gym, Sarah is a nurse and they have 3 young kids, I’d say having an easier morning is a must in their house!
