The Worst Front Door Paint Colors
Okay okay, you got me – You know I would never tell you something is the worst. That’s not my style! If you love a color and it makes you happy, then it’s the right front door color for you. I think the only way I could classify something as “the worst” would be if it was a color that made you not stoked to come home every day. I mean, that’s kinda the worst, right?! So no, this isn’t a post about the worst front door paint colors. It IS, however, a post with a whole new crop of favorite front door colors of mine that I’m sharing with you today! These colors are tried and true, and I’ve used every single one of them multiple times on my clients’ homes. And, really, my own home… “Rubber Ducky” as you see above was my front door color at the 11th Street Retreat! I’ve tried to share a little something for everyone today: a good neutral, some bold pops of color, and some good can’t-go-wrong staples. Which one would you paint on your own front door? I’d love to hear in the comments 🙂

Thanks for these suggestions! I need to paint ours but couldn’t decide on a color. It will be Georgian Blue! Love it!
Hi, we just hung a new front door on our new home and it’s close to the Hale Navy blue you showed. The door suggests a Craftmade style, but only a single window and no dental molding. Next, I’ll pull down all the shutters and paint them the same color (house is currently white siding. May change one day).
Hi Jasmine :), thanks for sharing so much great info, and thanks for sharing your beautiful family with us. Regarding the door colors, I love the yellow but actually find myself gravitating towards the blue one – they’re all great colors though. Thanks again, keep up the great work.
JR,
I just refreshed a rental and actually used a front door color very close to the Hale Navy – it is definitely a keeper. My wife loves the yellow – so we agreed – your colors are on-point. Take care and we hope you let your foot heal really really good before going crazy on it. I learned this the hard way when I had foot surgery!
Hi! We hust painted our front door black-a shade called “Astronomical”. My partner swears it raised the value of our home by $6,000. I’m not sure about that, but I love the sophisticated color!
It’s so hard to pick! My husband and I are opposites for color!! He loves 70’s earthy olive greens deep oranges and browns. I like bright happy colours like turquoise yellow or green.
I agree you have to feel pumped about the colour or it’s the wrong one!
Currently painting the body of our american four square Hale Navy. Trim BM White Dove. Thinking BM Split Pea for the door color. What do you think?
I think that sounds like a perfect paint color combo!
I have a can of SW nifty turquoise waiting to go on the front door as soon as I find the time 😂
Now the real question: do I paint the inside of the door, too?!
