Help! I Wrecked My House Season 4, Episode 6: Traditional and Beachy

Project Overview:

THE HOMEOWNER:

Chelsea and Marc

THE BUDGET:

$160K

THE STORY:

On this week’s episode of ‘Help! I Wrecked My House’ Season 4, Episode 6: Wide Open Spaces, Chelsea and Marc have lived in their home for two years with their two daughters. They bought this house because it checked most of their boxes, but the layout and the way the house functioned overall wasn’t what they had hoped for. It was becoming exhausting for their relationship—if they didn’t have a solution soon they were going to have to rethink living in this house entirely. When you don’t have the expertise to solve a problem, you’re just spinning your wheels without really getting anything accomplished. I’m so happy they called me so I could help make this their dream home in such a tranquil, peaceful neighborhood.

THE PLAN:

This house was a challenge for Marc and Chelsea and it was also a challenge for me! This project was more of a design challenge than anything else. It’s not until you start digging a little deeper until you realize the complexity of the home’s problems and how the house doesn’t work for them. The kitchen was the biggest issue because it was so separate from the rest of the house, so moving the kitchen was my main priority.  The couple gravitated towards a traditional, beachy design style. I had nine weeks to complete this project and create a floor plan that allowed their family to be together.
