Big Announcement! We Moved & Our Cabin Is For Sale

Big Announcement! We Moved & Our Cabin Is For Sale

If you know us, this shouldn't surprise you but…we moved to Utah! Okay, just for the winter, but still—it's a big deal! Over the years Brett and I have traveled the world chasing the snow and this winter, with Hazel in tow, we’re back at it. We love snowboarding and it’s something that makes our whole family happy. But living in Southern California—well, let’s just say there isn’t a lot of snow. In 2015 we purchased the “Tiny Mountain Home” in Park City, Utah which is just 640 sq ft and has served our family well. Last year, we also purchased “Hazel’s Cozy Cabin” and after being on the cover of HGTV Magazine and having a hit HGTV special following the renovation, we feel compelled to follow our dreams and take our “mountain-ing” to the next level. So long story short, we decided to sell Hazel’s Cozy Cabin, make a big change and commit to “winter” like we never have before.

So today (with a lot of mixed emotions), we're officially putting “Hazel's Cozy Cabin” on the market. We love this 2 bed, 2 bath a-frame and we know you will love it, too. Click here to see the listing and join us for an open house on Friday (2/10) and Saturday (2/11) from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. I can't wait to see all of you there.

Centrally located between Lake Arrowhead and Big Bear—about an hour and a half drive from the California coast—Hazel’s Cozy Cabin is a destination that’s ideal for every season. The winter offers snowfall and chilly temps, while the summer allows you to jump in the lake and sunbathe on the deck. Whichever you prefer, Hazel’s Cozy Cabin will be yours to enjoy. With four queen-sized bunk beds upstairs, a primary bedroom downstairs, the cabin sleeps up to 10 people comfortably—plus, there’s a nursery for any little ones (or it could be converted into an office space!). The open living room has a stone fireplace, a cozy couch and chairs, and large windows that bring in tons of natural light (or perfect views of watching the snowfall). The dining room and living room are modern yet homey, making for a warm space to start and end the day over a good meal.

I’m thrilled to share Hazel’s Cozy Cabin with one of you, because I know you’ll love it just as much as our family does! Click here to view the listing.

Oh, and more news coming soon about what we've been up to in Utah. That's a whole other story…

  • We recently bought a cozy cabin as well up in Big Bear Lake. It’s actually on Forestry Leased Land, so we don’t own the land only the cabin as personal property. These cabins are historic, usually from the 1920’s and offer privacy & some seclusion due to the distance between the cabins. They usually offer amazing views of nature, mountains, ski slopes, and even of the lake. We actually had thought about contacting you to invite you to come by to take a look at our cabin to possibly help us bring it up to better more modern standards on the interior as it had last been renovated in the late 80’s/early 90’s. We’ve started work on it, but we could really use your help! It’s a beautiful cozy cabin located on a magical setting on a mountain with lots of pine and oak trees & huge ancient boulders. It’s actually just up the same private road as the stone ruins of the historic & original Dam Keepers House. It oversees the dam just below and has views of the lake from both inside and outside. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions at all or if you’d like to stop by and visit to take a look. You’re always welcomed when we happen to be up there, which is quite frequently. Thank you for your time. We hate to see you go as a resident of our beautiful mountains and hope you’ll still visit the area from time to time as it’s so beautiful all year long, especially with the lake being at such a higher level after the record snowfall we had this past winter with our crazy Blizzard! I watched the episode in which you remodeled Hazels Cozy Cabin and absolutely loved it! We wish you the best of luck and lots of fun on your new adventure! We know Utah has great snow activities and my family as a whole love Moab, Utah! If you haven’t been yet, you gotta visit!

  • I absolutely love the cabin and can tell that you designed the interior with your heart and family in mind. It’s inviting, comfortable, spacious, and charming. Maybe you might consider renting it and saving it for your daughter’s college fund! You never know. Enjoy your new adventure. Blessings to you and your family.
