Help! I Wrecked My House, Season 4, Episode 5: Modern Boho

Project Overview:

THE HOMEOWNER:

Jess and Justin

THE BUDGET:

$95K

THE STORY:

Jess and Justin have lived in this house for 10 years. They rented it before they purchased it and knew there were updates and renovations to be made in order to make it their own. The couple started with their kitchen and renovated it in six months, but other various projects around the home were started and never finished. And some of them were a major safety hazard, like the fireplace and staircase. Jess and Justin wanted to have a home that they were proud to have and I was excited to come help them achieve this.

THE PLAN:

Like a lot of couples, Jess and Justin couldn’t quite agree on a design style—which can be a challenge. Jess liked a scandinavian boho style that was warm and bright, Justin was more into an industrial art gallery vibe. I decided to stick with a Modern Boho design style to incorporate both as much as possible. By adding plenty of storage to the living room, refreshing the fireplace, adding new floors, paint, lights, and more, this would soon become the home they dreamed of living in.
