Darla Rose Roth is 2! We had the best time celebrating our little (almost middle) baby and love this small but mighty human more than words can express. She’s feisty, opinionated, stubborn, super sweet, loves sharing, eats everything, and adores her family. The world is yours baby girl! Can’t wait to see what this year brings…

We had so much fun putting this all together! You only get to go BIG for a few years so I say GO FOR IT. And we obviously had lots of fun family time (after Darla woke up from her mid-party nap…oh to be 2!) where we ate cake, opened presents, and put those confetti poppers to good use. Our house may never be the same!

The theme of the party was “Dar Star is Two” which turned out to be really fun and cute from a decor standpoint. Even though I didn’t hire the professionals, I’m really proud of how this party came together! I did have a few folks from my design team come help me hang things the night before so I didn’t climb on a ladder.

Our house is “open concept” and I decided to decorate three main areas. The dining room, the entry table, and the island. For the dining table, I ordered a massive ruffled tablecloth from Amazon, some cute star candles, and I used plastic plates. The napkins are from Walmart and I did the flowers myself. I loved arranging these flowers–I bought them from Trader Joe’s the day before the party! They felt very fall which matched the weather here in Utah, but also very fresh and cute to match our sweet little two year old.

Adding these star lanterns to our existing lighting over the table really made this dining area feel festive. I might leave them up year round! The other area I decorated was the entry way, which I decided was going to be our “gift table”. I tried to do my helium balloons for our last party only to learn that it doesn't work at our high altitude. Who knew?! These balloons were delivered the morning of the party. I always frame the invitation to each party and at this point it has become tradition. I love opening the frame to find the invitations from years prior.

Just past the dining area is the kitchen. My dream was a wall of balloons with all the food in front. I purchased balloon bouquets from Amazon and fancied them up with some gold baskets from Michaels. We also added some gold star balloons to keep the theme. My mother-in-law baked the cake from scratch, which was the star of the show!

And since we had just family at this party, I left the custom cookies in their plastic sleeves so they could double as party favors. They were so cute! We tried to keep the setup minimal and I had everything set out the night before so all we had to add was ice. Brett made steak sandwiches with whipped feta, salted tomatoes, arugula, and homemade chimichurri.

Happy 2nd birthday, Darla Rose!
