Fall Is My Favorite ColorSeptember 07 2022
It’s always sunny here in southern California and that’s why every year around this time I always declare “Fall is my favorite color!” We see plenty of winter in Utah, but capturing the look and feel of autumn here at home in California is a bit more elusive, so I always lean hard into Fall decor in my own home.
Of course, I’m talking about cozy throws, but even beyond that I love pops of those fall colors all around, especially on our family dinner table. And I love that Hazel gets an appreciation for the seasons, with all their color and traditions.
When I started working on stocking my new shop, I knew I wanted to add some fall decor that not only captured the season, but also had a little bit of a California twist. These are everyday pieces that could really be used all year long, but the classic rust and terra cotta hues make these pieces feel like fall. Here’s a peek.
1. Nutmeg Trivet Set // 2. Chesney Throw Blanket // 3. Autumn Bowls Set // 4. Willa Berry Basket // 5. Finnick Taper Candles // 6. Welcome Fall Mug Set // 7. Bedford Placemat // 8. Caitlin Pillow // 9. Dallow Pillow // 10. Colden Measuring Spoons // 11. Bancroft Napkin Set
If you know me, you know I like to keep it simple and create places and spaces where my clients, friends and family can gather and bring the room to life. I want my decor to complement the special moments, not overwhelm them. Little touches here and there offer a way to spark conversations, relive special memories and make some new ones right at home.
That’s why I really went for classic patterns and subtle colors when putting together my fall collection. I love the warmth of the autumn color palette, the soft textures of throws and the coziness that comes with a great plaid.
Fringe For Days
These two classic plaid throws celebrate the window pane plaid, which is simple, classic and the perfect way to accent the season without taking over a room. And I always love a good fringe.
Turn Texture Up To 10
Another one of my favorite ways to bring the season home is to play up organic textures. Whether it's a woven knit pillow or a beautiful wood bowl filled with found leaves and textured objects, to me, the fall home is all about the five senses.
Enjoy All the Colors of Fall
I hope you enjoyed this little fall adventure as much as I did. Here’s hoping you get to get out there with your friends, family, dogs, babies and enjoy all there is to enjoy this season. I’ll be over here in my corner with my warm cider with a side of apple pie until Hazel and Brett notice I’ve been gone for a while…
