‘HELP! I Wrecked My House’ Season 5, Episode 7: New England Goes West Part II

This project was all about “undoing” a duplex and making it a livable and functional family home in Park City. This second half of the project was even more challenging than the first. I needed to make this a home that fit this family’s needs and that they could grow into. Our budget was tight for the work that needed to be done and there was really no room for mistakes. The focus on this second phase was on the overall layout and design of the kitchen, kid’s rooms, and dining room, along with creating an upstairs hallway. This second phase was 8 weeks, we had a $185,000 budget, and we ended up getting the project done just in time and on budget. I added a fun secret room for the kids, decided to keep the original fireplace brick, and created a “New England goes West” overall design.
