My Small-Space Laundry Room Must-Haves
I’ve had small-space laundry room must-haves on the brain lately, and there’s a reason for that. I’ve been spending a lot of time up at the Tiny Mountain Home in Utah this winter, and when I say “tiny,” I mean tiny. This home is 643 square feet, and I’ve been staying there (a few weeks here, a few weeks there) with Brett, Hazel and my Mom. That’s right: 3 adults and 1 baby crammed into 643 square feet. It’s cozy, I’ll say that! One of the things that I’ve been super grateful for during this time is our small but MIGHTY laundry room. And using the word “room” is generous – it’s a closet that conceals a stacked washer and dryer behind a sliding barn door.
For 3 adults (wearing winter clothes, so lots of layers!) and a baby (lots of clothing changes), we create a ton of laundry, and this little setup has kept up with us! I think the biggest key to this little laundry nook is that it’s functional and efficient. That got me thinking about all of the things that would make for a small but mighty laundry room – my must-haves! Some of these I don’t have room for in Utah, but I used at the 11th Street Retreat, which was another barn door laundry nook. Anyways, I hope some of these can help you guys too!

I have a small laundry room. Love these tips. Thanks
We will be moving into a new home shortly. Have been searching for barn doors – can you recommend a good place to get one (only need one). Looking forward to incorporating some of these ideas into our small space. Thanks for sharing!
