What I’m Making for My Design Star Viewing Party!
Okay, as you guys know I’m SUPER EXCITED to finish work today. And for those of you who don’t know why I’m excited, HERE’S WHY!!! One word… POPCORN. JK, jk, just kiddinggggg. It’s actually because Design Star: Next Gen is BACK ON HGTV tonight at 9:00PM ET|PT with an all new PREMIERE EPISODE where I’m a GUEST JUDGE! Okay, okay, let me stop shouting and take a breath to tell you how excited I am to sit with my little family and watch this show. So excited, actually, that I’ve been planning what I’m going to make for WEEKS. Literally, I turned my house into a test kitchen and got this crazy idea to make HERBED POPCORN for my little Design Star viewing party. And let me tell you, it turned out GREAT!
Next up, how to make the MOST DELICIOUS popcorn. Fun fact, I love love love popcorn. But I don’t discriminate. I love a good bag of popcorn, a microwaved bag of popcorn, I even have one of these movie theatre popcorn makers I bought when I used to do HGTV viewing parties. But alas, here we are ALONE in our house and we can’t have everyone over, which means we can get FANCY with our popcorn. A while back, my brother-in-law bought us this air popper and let me tell you – IT’S AWESOME!
In addition, I used REAL BUTTER, but you can totally swap in coconut oil for those that are watching their waistline or are dairy-free. So without further ado, here’s what I’m making for my Design Star viewing party: my HERBED POPCORN RECIPE.
Jazzy’s Herbed Popcorn
1/2 Cup Popcorn Kernels
3 Tablespoons Butter
2 Teaspoons Dried Herbs (I like Braggs 24 Herbs & Seasonings)
1/2 Teaspoon Fine Salt
Get out your popcorn machine.
Add popcorn kernels and airpop.
Meanwhile, melt the butter. Stir herbs into the melted butter.
Drizzle herb butter on top of popped popcorn.
Add salt and toss to coat.
